✅ You may be able to join if…
- •Adults of any sex/gender who are at least 18 years old when they sign consent.
- •Chronic kidney disease with certain kidney lab results (eGFR and urine protein measures such as UACR or UPCR).
- •A history of high blood pressure (HTN) plus blood pressure readings that meet the study limits at screening and at randomization.
- •A stable, maximum tolerated dose of an ACE inhibitor or an ARB for at least 4 weeks (but not both).
- •Potassium levels in a safe range for the participant’s kidney function level (eGFR).
🚫 You may not be able to join if…
- •Very high blood pressure at screening (systolic > 180 mmHg or diastolic > 110 mmHg).
- •Known hyperkalaemia (potassium ≥ 5.5 mmol/L) within 3 months before screening.
- •Low sodium (serum sodium < 135 mmol/L) within 4 weeks before screening or at screening.
- •Uncontrolled type 2 diabetes with HbA1c > 10.5% (more than 91 mmol/mol) within 3 months before screening or at screening.
- •Recent or severe heart/kidney events or certain other conditions, including: NYHA class IV heart failure, a stroke/TIA or certain heart problems within the past 3 months, dialysis or acute kidney injury within 3 months, adrenal insufficiency, or a need for organ transplant/immunosuppression.

The study treatment and study-related visits are provided at no cost to you. Some studies also pay for your time; the coordinator can tell you if this one does. You should never be asked to pay to take part.
Do I need insurance? Will anyone ask about my immigration status?+
No. You do not need health insurance to take part in a research study, and you will not be asked about your immigration status to join. Taking part is about whether you're a medical fit for the study.

You have the right to understand everything before you agree. Study sites can often provide materials or an interpreter in your language — you can ask the coordinator for one.
